General Mode

The following features have been added to the General foundation mode in STAAD Foundation Advanced v7.2.

Ribbed Beam Footing

Ribbed beam (also referred to as grade beams) are now available for design per the Indian code in the General mode. Ribbed beam foundations are commonly used in South East Asia and is best described as an inverted T foundation. It is a combined footing with grade beam spanning from edge to edge of a foundation.

This foundation type is also available in the Toolkit mode.

ISM Implementation for Mat Geometry

Synchronization of mat foundation geometry is now available. Mat boundary, hole, and control regions as well as pedestals and beams have being implemented for ISM.

Create or Open any Mat foundation file with load and parameters assigned. Analyze or Design the file.

To create new repository, Select Sync ISM > Create Repository from the STAAD Foundation menu.

Pile Cap for Australian Code

Pile cap design per AS 3600 2001 with Amendments 1 & 2 is now available. To create a Pile Cap footing in Australian code in general mode, create a new job with design code Australian and Default Deign Type as SI. The output Design summary table, calculation sheet, and detail drawing is also implemented for AS code. The calculation sheet contains references to applicable AS code clauses.
